Role overview
Objective
The Battery Installer will perform maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of energy storage and protection systems at customer sites. Responsibilities include testing battery systems, conducting technical investigations, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. A strong understanding of electrical systems, a focus on customer satisfaction, and effective problem-solving skills are essential.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have minimum 3 years of experience on battery decommissioning, installation and commissioning
- Must have a code 10 driver license
- Must NOT have a criminal record
- Be medically fit to access customer sites
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining batteries of various types, including lead- acid, lithium-ion, and nickel-cadmium.
- Good understanding of electrical principles and safety protocols.
- Ability to use specialized tools and equipment for battery maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of different types of batteries
- Understanding of electrical systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Includes but not limited to:
- Battery capacity testing
- Fault diagnosis and repair work
- Technical investigation, identifying and resolving issues related to battery performance and operation
- Providing technical support
- Report writing
- Ensuring safety protocols
- Record keeping - maintaining accurate records of battery maintenance and tests
- Battery Amp/Hr capacity discharging testing using discharge and charging equipment
- Using battery measurement equipment (DVM; DC Clamp meter; temperature- thermo meter, TMC Alber) to record electrical signals
